Motorola and Ferrari have joined forces once again and created the i9 Ferrari edition handset, that will reach Nextel Brazil soon. This device is already available in the US, as Motorola Stature via Sprint and Boost Mobile.
Moto i9 is a pretty sexy iDEN phone, bearing the Ferrari logo and packing Ferrari content (wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones that mimic Ferrari engine sounds). The handset features 2 QVGA screens, push to talk, GPS, a 3.1 megapixel camera and external illuminated keys.
Bluetooth support is also on the specs list and you have to know that the phone is bundled with a 2GB memory card. Nextel Brazil sells Motorola i9 Ferrari for about $688.
Phone Arena managed to score a Pixon12 M8910 unit for review and this 12 megapixel cameraphone proved to be as cool as expected, if not even more. The design of the original Pixon model was kept, albeit this one is a bit slimmer and the overall look mimics the one of a point and shoot digital camera.
There’s a 3.1 inch resistive AMOLED touchscreen display on board, strangely enough a smaller screen than the one of the predecessor of this phone. However, the 480 x 800 pixels resolution is just great, but the display disappoints when you use it in direct sunlight. As far as the UI is concerned, Pixon12 comes with TouchWiz 2.0, a lag-free version of the interface, with nice widgets, smooth transitions and a very responsive solution overall.
Three home screens are available for you and widgets that can be placed on specific screens, according to the user’s tastes and desire for personalization. Samsung’s new cameraphone also supports multi-tasking and you’ll be able to bring up the task manager by pressing and holding down the middle hardware button, if you need it.
Moving on to the most interesting aspect of the phone, the 12 megapixel camera, we learn that it features blink and smile detection, a dedicated camera button, customizable resolution, ISO levels, effects and white balance. The on board Xenon flash will be of great help, specially as far as photo realism is concerned.
You know, if it weren’t so early in the morning, we might just think Samsung’s latest Armani slider (more formally known as the SPH-W8200) was a gilded Instinct HD with a pull-down number pad. We’re going to do our best to pretend there’s really something more here, starting with the fact that the Giorgio Armani logo beneath the screen is probably worth more than half of our belongings… at least according to Craigslist. At any rate, the first glimpse at this here phone’s specifications has finally emerged, and while some tidbits are still up in the air, we do know that it’ll arrive with a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a DMB TV tuner, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA, Bluetooth and a microSD expansion slot. Too bad the price will inevitably overshadow all of that, but hey, fashion ain’t cheap — ya heard?
